We define sustainable fluoropolymer solutions as a product portfolio that demonstrates low or no PFAS-of-concern. PFAS of concern are those small molecular weight fluorotelomer and fluorooligomer fragments that are categorized as water-soluble (thus potential groundwater pollutants) and biopersistent. These small molecular weight PFAS-of-concern molecules have polar end groups, and thus are effectively fluorosurfactants. These fluorosurfactants are precisely the PFAS-of-concern that our polymer engineers do not use.
By design, all Odyssey Polymers fluoroadditives meet and exceed the most recent ECHA REACH regulations. We engineer and manufacture our polymer molecules to be devoid of fluorosurfactants and PFAS-of-concern.
